A day full of surprises

The Alpine 7s stop of the Fall High School Rugby Series was a real barn-burner. Teams have gotten over the initial jitters of the season and have significantly stepped up their games. No longer do fans see blow outs, but matches being decided by two points or less. There were high expectations for this tournament and it did not disappoint.

First things first, the weather, view and fields were incredible. Snuggled in close to the mountains, you can't ask for a better backdrop for rugby anywhere.

In the boys division, Summit Academy held on against a last-minute push by Herriman to win the boys division, 19-17, in a real nail-biter of a final. The semifinals were no less exciting with Herriman coming from behind to beat Skyline by a single try 26-19 and Summit squeaked by Box Elder by the exact same score after a huge push by the Box Elder boys.

In the end Box Elder beat Skyline for third place in the tourney.

In the girls division, Orem continues to dominate the field scoring 209 points in the tournament while only giving away 12. United is in a Solid second place with the Vipers and Snow Canyon rounding out the top 4.

The Final stop on the Fall 7s series is next week in St George. It is being held at Snow Canyon High School and promises to be a showcase of some incredible rugby talent!
