That first game allowed the boys to finish gelling under a pressure game scenarios and complete the transistion from a group of all-stars into acohesive team. They woudl need it since they woudl be facing Texas in the next game. Lions XV Varsity Girls take second in a Heartbeaker loss to Nor Cal

The Lions XV girls started out the tournament with a 70-0 romp over the Minnesota All-Star girls. The minnesota girls never had an idea of what hit them until the referee stopped the game 5 minutes early in a mercy killing of the game. The rainout then cuased pure havoc with the girls schedule, ultimately leading to the loss. The first game sunday was against the APEX all-star girls team. They provided a much stronger level of comeptition against the Lions but the girls agiain found themselves victorious defeating APEX 24-10 at full time.

The girls then had to play a back to back game against what was supposed ot be Colorado but ended up being NorCal after an unannouced switch by the Tourney officials. The coahes voiced thier complaints but were left with no choice, either play or walk away. The girls decided to play and face a large, strong, team of girls coming primarily from teh Amazon womens rugby club ( there is still some controversy about eligible players on tha team), where after a incredibly hard fought game the girls were just too exhausted and tired and succumbed to Nor Cal 19-12 in the final minutes of the game.
