Summer 7s Series Registration Opens 20 March

Utah Youth Rugby is proud to announce the opening of registration for the 2014 summer season.

The summer 7s, for boys and girls 5-14 yrs old, is entering its 5^th season in Utah and it looking to be incredible! We have changed the format per parent request and instead of 2 games per day for 8 weeks, we are offering 4 full day tournaments with each team playing 3 games that day( The max the iRB allows in a single day). Tournaments will be held on June 14, June 28, July 12, and July 26. Each team will acquire points towards a championship with medals awarded to the winning age groups.

Teams are built around friends and neighborhoods. You will see teams like West Jordan, Tooele, Layton instead of clubs like United or Kau Toa. If you have played before, you can request your old team. If you are new, give us the name of a friend and we will try to put you on his team. There is a hard limit of 12 players per team and it is first come, first served as we build these teams.

We have also initiated a USA Rugby lvl 150 coaching certification for all parent coaches wishing to participate as a coach. The summer 7s series is a parent coached endeavor and we have a new certification program in place to get you comfortable with the games and also teach you how to coach kids.

As part of registration, each player will get a full custom rugby uniform including shorts, socks and jerseys. Certified referees and medical are available at the field as well as food and apparel vendors.

We will not be moving fields around either this year. Since there are only 4 tournaments, they will all be held at the West Jordan Soccer Complex. This makes it simple for everyone, especially our vendors and sponsors.

Registration fees are $100 per player, a $30 discount is applied to siblings who register at the same time, until 1 May when the fees will go up to $120.

U14 and Younger State Championships will be played in Cedar City as part of the Utah Summer Games this year. Season will start May 1 and will finish up in Cedar City June 26 and 27.
