East and Highland would meet for the second time in the 2016 campaign.  This match would be for 3rd place in the Single School High School Rugby Playoff.  The Leopards beat Highland just a few weeks earlier by a score of 43 to 15.  The match started strong for the Leopards in a very similar way.  Fa Toli would score first finding a break in the defensive line.  Napa Nuusa would rumble for the second score right between the posts.  Junior Maile would add points off of a strong supporting run and Halani Utuone would cap off the first half scoring.  The Leopards would lead the Rams 24 to 7 at the half.  Momentum would shift in the second half.  The Rams scored 2 quick trys in the first part of the second half.  The score would be 24 to 19 for East.  Then Jordan Anderson would score extending the Leopard lead.  This made the score 29 to 19.  Highland would score 2 times taking the lead 31 to 29 and in the final moments would score once more putting the Leopards away with a final score of 36 to 29.  It was an unfortunate way to end the season.  These young men accomplished a lot during the 2016 season and have a lot to be proud of.
