This past weekends game against Highland had big implications for the 9/10 conference standings.  The 9/10 team was able to capture some of the momentum from the East varsity teams win because they came hard right out of the gate.  The 9/10 team played great team rugby.  They were led by a strong forward pack and a back line that could get the ball wide.  Tanner Burnett would score the first of 3 trys on the day by beating the defense on the outside.  Paul Maile would get a try of his own.  To finish out the first half Momo Kauvaka would get in the try zone.  The score at the half would be 33 to 0 for the Leopards with an outstanding first half performance.

The second half momentum would continue for East.  Taki Vakalahi would rumble down the sideline for the would be try but then he off loaded the ball to Seni Tuiaki for the score.  Then the last score of the game would come from Josh Nielsen.  The leopards would give up a Highland score in the second half but the Leopards would prove to be too much and would win by a final score of 43 to 7.  It was a fantastic team effort by the 9/10 team.  Everyone did their job and it showed.  The East 9/10 team will be the #1 seed for the 9/10 playoffs for Single School programs with a shot to win the State Championship later this month.
